I am blessed to be part of the best book club ever, we travel together, drink wine, laugh out loud and yes we even read:) We met when our boys were in kindergarten (they are now 21/22) and we are still going strong.
I chose to post a blog about books because if you are like me as a small business owner I just don't find enough time to read during my normal work week. But it's summer and hopefully you are treating yourself to some much needed time off and relaxing by the ocean, pool or resort and need a good book to pick up!
Here are some of our book club suggestions (please purchase on our MWAW shop page):
1. The Last Romantics by Tara Conklin
This is our July pick so I have not read it yet but wanted to include it anyway, check back for our reviews.
2. Educated A Memoir by Tara Westover
No wonder this was named one of the ten best books of the year on the NY Times Book Review. A crazy interesting story that makes you want to skip to the end to find out how her life turns out but trust me enjoy the whole story. A fascinating read.
3. The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Although this has been around since 1983 I put this towards the top of my list because its one of my absolute favorites (along with Gone with the Wind) and its a long read! This book can be confusing at first because of the names but once you grasp all the characters you will love it. The writing is absolutely beautiful and allows you to get lost in the times of Camelot.
4. The Other Wife by Michael Robotham
This was given a thumbs up by all book club members. A perfect poolside read with plot twists throughout.
5. Defending Jacob by William Landay
We read this a while back but I kept it on my list because its an interesting read with an interesting story line and a book that allows for a great discussion.
Be sure to go to our MWAW shop page to purchase books! And send me your comments or book suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org (we will post some of them here).
